After completing his apprenticeship in Alberta and getting his Red Seal Carpenter’s License, Carl has worked for over thirty years in all aspects of residential and commercial construction.
In that time he has worked for fifteen years as a contractor specializing in renovations and additions.
He has also been the foreman on multi-unit condo repairs as a result of the ‘leaky condo’ crisis in Vancouver for eight years where identifying points of water entry was critical, as it is with home inspections.
Carl also passed the requirements to be the Construction Safety Officer, (C.S.O.), where it was his responsibility to identify and correct all safety issues. This is a legal requirement in British Columbia.
Water entry and safety issues are the two main things that are watched for on home inspection.
In 2014 Carl completed the Carson Dunlop Home Inspection Course through Seneca College with honours.
